We deeply yearn to be known and remembered. It's what fundamentally makes us human. What not enough of us realize, however, is that we don't have to do grandiose things to be great. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Immortality lies in the details. You have the power to change someone's life with the simplest of actions. The people I will always remember were ordinary, but they did extraordinary things whose impact they may not even be aware of: the high school teacher who believed I could go to college when all the odds were stacked against me; the man who taught me how to cure my depression through meditation; the grandfather who, by example, showed me that pursuing my passions is the most powerful way to change people's lives. These people weren't seeking recognition, yet their actions altered the course of my life for the better. Because of them, I seek to help others do the same. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ There is no safe passage through this life. We all die – it's only a matter of when and how. Why not live memorably? When we’re not out traveling or adventuring we’re usually at home watching tv, but date nights mean nights out at the movie theatre with popcorn and M&Ms. The two of us LOVE a good mystery, so naturally when Fox announced they were remaking the Murder on the Orient Express with an all-star cast, we got super excited and downloaded the audio book. Goodness gracious, from the elegant Dame Judy Dench who plays Princess Dragomiroff to Penelope Cruz as Pilar Estravados, the Spanish missionary and nurse – we think they got this cast spot on. But it’s Countess Andrenyi that I’ve always related to as my fav character, (hellooo…she’s been married for a year, just like us!) with her exotic persona, her love for fashion and her air of mystery…except maybe the potential substance abuse issue (unless you count caffeine). I like to think I’m mysterious, but Reub always seems to figure me out. ? Suuuuper excited for upcoming date night at the movies.
